About Ankara Kurtuluş Church and Its History

Founded in 1985, Ankara Kurtuluş Church has grown into one of the largest and most influential Christian communities in Turkey. Located in the heart of the capital, it is the first church of a vast network of Kurtuluş Churches planted across the country. As part of the Foursquare Church, Ankara Kurtuluş has played a central role in spreading the Gospel throughout the region. Over the years, it has launched many ministries and church plants, raising up leaders to serve across Turkey. Our commitment to evangelism, worship, and discipleship has touched countless lives, bringing the love of Christ to both believers and those seeking faith in Turkey, as we continue to witness God’s transformative work.

A New Season of Leadership

Pastor İhsan Özbek stepped down this June after 30 years of faithful ministry as our senior pastor. As Pastor İhsan moves to İzmir to focus on church planting nationwide, we welcome İbrahim and Songül as our new lead pastors at the Ankara church. Serving as part of a five person elder team, İbrahim and Songül are committed to guiding Ankara Kurtuluş Church with wisdom, unity, and a deep commitment to holiness. Our goal is to set a high standard for organized leadership, becoming an example of Christian integrity and excellence in Turkey as we continue growing and impacting our nation with the Gospel.

Our Journey and Ministry Impact

Our ministries meet both spiritual and practical needs. Here’s some of what we do:

R10 Evangelism Ministry

Inspired by Romans 10:14-15, this is a traveling evangelism ministry reaching seekers in uncreached provinces around the entire country. Through R10, we mobilize, equip and lead believers in spreading the Gospel throughout Turkey.

Refugee Ministry

We reach out to Syrian, Iraqi and Iranian refugees in our community, providing essential care, support, and resources to help them rebuild their lives while sharing the hope and love of Christ.

Prayer and Worship Nights

Every Wednesday night, we gather to seek the Lord in prayer and worship, while also hosting periodic multi church worship times, creating a sacred space to experience God's presence together.

Filipus Ministry Training School

This residential ministry training program provides theological teaching and practical development for new ministry candidates who are passionate about the Gospel and equipped to serve across Turkey.

Young Adult Ministry

Providing a nurturing environment for young people to grow in their faith and develop Christ-centered relationships.

Home Groups

These small groups meet regularly in homes to build community, study the Word, and pray together, fostering deeper connections and spiritual growth within the church.
