- Pray that the war between Hezbollah in southern Lebanon and Israel would come to a peaceful end immediately.
- Pray that all of In-country and foreign Christian ministries in and for Lebanon would continue to bear much fruits for God's kingdom.
- Pray that the Good News of Jesus Christ would be preached to all people not only in Lebanon but also throughout all the Middle East.
3 days ago, the last functioning unit at the EDL was shut down due to the complete depletion of the fuel reserve. This has led to a nationwide power outage affecting critical infrastructure across Lebanon including the airport, port, water pumps, sewage systems etc...
This is not the first time that Lebanon has undergone complete darkness, so many of us have learned to adapt, with shared neighborhood generators and solar power. Evidently many people cannot afford to install solar power or the generators cost which is quite high so many are indeed living in total darkness
It is true that the airport has back up generators; however, i went down to the airport 2 days ago and all the Air conditioning units are off and needless to say it is very very hot at the airport.
The water pumps that are distributing water to the houses have also suffered and this is causing an additional burden on people.
On the escalation of violence side, As you know, Israel has eliminated several key leaders of both Iran and Hizbollah group so retaliation has been going on since. Though very limited in scope, yet last night, amunition warehouses belonging to Hizbollah were destroyed by the IDF in multiple locations. This has caused multiple secondary explosions as large amounts of weapons were targeted. The sound of bombs is traumatizing people
Burned fields in southern Lebanon and North Israel because of the phosphorus bombs are making both countries suffer with both population displaced and the agriculture and crops destroyed. Many southerners have been displaced. many have lost their homes, family members, their business and all their belongings. In this hard economic crisis, they can't even rely on savings that no longer exist in banks
In the midst of all this we keep shining in the dark , we keep sowing, we keep bringing hope of a future and we keep generating smiles
